Phoenix Pharmacy Wholesale is the largest pharmaceutical distributor and operator of the leading pharmacy network BENU in the Czech Republic. The company focuses on the efficient distribution of pharmaceuticals and healthcare products, with the ability to process and analyse large volumes of data quickly and reliably being a key factor in its success.
To ensure flexible management, maintenance and development of its BI solution built on Qlik technologies, Phoenix asked dolphin consulting to provide continuous support and development of its existing on-premise solution Qlik Sense and Qlik Analytics Platform.
Customer requirement
Phoenix needed to provide a handover of an existing solution from the original vendor to ensure business continuity, minimize handover risks and set a stable foundation for future development.
Key requirements included:
- Taking over and ensuring the smooth running and support of the existing reporting solution.
- Ensuring continuity of application development – for vendors and teams across the company.
- Developing and extending the solution – incrementally taking over applications as they become more critical and prioritised.
- Monitoring the platform – including reading logs, managing applications, addressing operational issues.
- Reporting development – creating new and modifying existing reports and dashboards to meet the needs of internal users, including providing business analysis.
- Identifying areas and designing a process to further improve the overall solution from a best practice perspective, taking into account PHOENIX’s global architecture.
Solution
We supplied the client with a team of consultants with varying levels of seniority and a project manager who took responsibility for taking over, managing and developing the entire Qlik environment. As part of the collaboration, we provided the following services:
- Qlik Transition project management of all involved teams (internal and external).
- Support of the existing solution o Regular updates and maintenance of the Qlik Sense platform. o Incident resolution. o Access management and security policy settings (Section Access).
- Application development and reporting o Completion of acquired work-in-progress applications, development of completely new applications and modification of existing applications. o Design and implementation of new reports and dashboards according to the principles of proper graphical report design and information visualization. o Back-end, front-end application development including analysis and creation of business specifications. o Optimization of transformations and calculations to improve report performance.
- Implementation of best practices o Implementation of best practices from the pharmaceutical industry based on our experience with similar projects. o Sharing know-how across the team.
Benefits
Thanks to the quick and efficient handover of the solution from the original supplier, business continuity was ensured without disruption and ahead of schedule. By continuously implementing and sharing best practices and optimizing the existing solution, we improved the performance of the BI platform and increased the quality of the output reports.
